Trends can vary from filters, to dances to the sounds, keep an eye out for the ones you like and know you will be able to make the most of. When you create a Tiktok that does gain traction, make sure that you capitalise on all your hard work, by replying, liking and posting a follow up TikTok as soon as you can. You didn’t put all that effort in to drive people to your profile to ignore them when they finally hit your account! Engaging with the right accounts can make all the difference and help you start to build your online community.

Do NOT worry about having the perfect video content… communities on Tiktok are more interested in fast-paced content creation, with current content. This is often the complete opposite of the super glossy, highly edited content that people would expect on Instagram. Keep your video length short! Usually 10-15 second videos are the most popular because it is generally what most Tiktokkers are looking for. Longer videos don’t often perform well but this isn’t a one shoe fits all rule for all posts. You need to work out exactly what your audience wants to see and tailor content towards them to form your strategy.
- Cross promotion is key!
Share your TikTok content on your other channels but remember to create organic content on TikTok first and use their features - this platform will prioritise content made on the app as opposed to repurposed content. Another top tip would be not to download your TikTok videos once they have been posted - you’ll get a watermark on your video, causing it to underperform once shared to alternative platforms.
